Embed our tools on your site
Every tool on Quaestio can be embedded on another site, free of charge. The box carries no ads, and everything is calculated in the visitor’s browser, so nothing the visitor types is sent anywhere.
It works well in a blog post about household budgets, on a school maths page or on a club website, wherever visitors need to work something out without leaving the page.
How to embed a tool
- Pick a tool from the list below, or open any tool on the site and press Embed underneath it.
- Press Copy code.
- Paste the code into the HTML of your page, for example in a Custom HTML block in WordPress or the embed box of your publishing tool.
The box follows the visitor’s light or dark theme setting. To choose for yourself, add ?theme=light or ?theme=dark to the end of the address in the iframe, for example …/percentage/?theme=dark.
The embed.js script on the last line of the code adjusts the height to the tool, so the box never gets scroll bars. Without the script the box still works, at the height given in the code.
Tools that suit embedding
A selection with UK defaults: VAT, salary after tax, bank holidays and working days apply to the United Kingdom. Every tool page also has an Embed button, so every tool on the site can be embedded.
Maths
Percentage calculator
Three everyday percentage questions, such as what 25% of an amount is and how big an increase is in per cent.
Dice roller
Roll one or more dice with any number of sides, for games or lessons on probability.
Random number
Draw random numbers within a range, such as a line of 6 from 59.
Units
Length
Convert between metres, miles, feet, inches and other lengths.
Temperature
Convert between Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin.
Cups to grams
Turn cups, tablespoons and teaspoons into grams for flour, sugar, butter and other ingredients.
BMI
Work out body mass index from height and weight, in stone and feet or metric.

VAT calculator
Add or remove VAT at the UK rates of 20%, 5% and 0%.
Take-home pay calculator
Take-home pay in the UK after Income Tax and National Insurance, including Scotland.
Loan calculator
Monthly payment and repayment schedule for a loan, such as a mortgage or car loan.
Index-linking calculator
Uprate a rent or fee by UK CPI for a given month, as an index-linking clause does, with a year-by-year schedule.
Currency converter
Convert between pounds, euros and other currencies with the European Central Bank’s daily rates.
Time
Week number
Which week a date falls in, and which dates a week covers.
Working days
Working days between two dates, leaving out weekends and bank holidays.
Bridge days
This year’s bank holidays and where a few days of annual leave give the longest break.
Countdown
Count down to Christmas, Bonfire Night or a date of your own.

What time it is somewhere else, for meetings and calls across time zones.

Terms of use for embedding
- You are welcome to embed the tools free of charge on your own site, such as a blog, a school page or a club website.
- Keep the source visible. The box shows the tool’s name and Quaestio at the bottom, and the code adds a plain text link below the box. Please do not hide, cover or crop them.
- Do not build a site that consists mainly of our tools, and do not put your own ads around the boxes to resell them.
- We may switch off embedding for individual domains that do not follow these terms.
- The tools are provided as they are. We correct mistakes as soon as we find them, but check anything important against the sources, which are listed on each tool page.
When someone uses an embedded box, the name of the website showing the box (for example example.com) is stored along with which tool it was, never the page address or anything about the visitor. There is more under Privacy and cookies.
