Install Quaestio as an app
Quaestio can be installed as an app straight from the browser, with no app store and no account. The app gets its own icon, opens in its own window without an address bar and starts in your language.
It is the same set of tools as on the web, and they update themselves. Pages you have opened also work offline.
iPhone and iPad
- Open quaestio.app in Safari.
- Tap Share, the square with an arrow pointing up, in the toolbar.
- Choose Add to Home Screen. If you cannot see it, scroll down the list.
- Tap Add. The icon appears on your home screen.
From iOS 16.4 the same works in Chrome and Edge on iPhone, through the Share button.
Android
- Open quaestio.app in Chrome.
- Tap the three-dot menu at the top right.
- Choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
- Confirm with Install.
In Samsung Internet the option is Add page to and then Home screen.
Computer with Chrome or Edge
- Open quaestio.app.
- Click the install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar, a screen with an arrow.
- If there is no icon, open the menu and choose Cast, save and share and then Install page as app in Chrome, or Apps and then Install this site as an app in Edge.
- Click Install. The app is added to your programs and can be pinned to the taskbar or Dock.
Firefox cannot install web apps. Use Chrome, Edge or Safari.
Mac with Safari
- Open quaestio.app in Safari (macOS Sonoma or later).
- Choose File in the menu bar and then Add to Dock.
- Click Add.
Good to know
You remove the app like any other: press and hold the icon on your phone, or open the app on your computer and choose Uninstall from its menu.
When online the app always fetches the latest version, so VAT rates, public holidays and exchange rates are current. Offline it shows saved pages, with a line saying they may be out of date.
