How it works
Everything in craps follows from the 36 equally likely rolls of two dice. Seven can be rolled in six ways, which is why it decides so many bets.
Pass and don’t pass are among the fairest bets in the casino, with a house edge of 1.41% and 1.36%. The free odds bet behind them has no house edge at all, so the more odds you take, the lower the edge on the total amount wagered.
The one-roll proposition bets in the middle of the table are the most expensive. Any seven pays 4 to 1 but should pay 5 to 1, which gives the house 16.67%.
The house edge per roll compares bets that stay on the table for different lengths of time: a pass bet takes on average 3.4 rolls to resolve.
