How it works

In five card draw you get five cards and may replace any number of them once. That gives 32 ways to hold, from all five to none, and each is counted exactly here against the 47 cards you cannot see.

A pair drawing three cards improves 28.7% of the time. Keeping a kicker with the pair lowers that to 25.9%, even though the chance of two pair rises slightly.

A four-card flush draw fills on 9 of 47 cards, 19.1%, and an open-ended straight draw on 8 of 47, 17.0%. Two pair becomes a full house on 4 of 47, 8.5%.

The options are ranked by the chance of reaching the target hand, which you can change. That is not the same as the chance of beating a particular opponent, which depends on their hand and how many cards they draw.
